Materials
- Extrusions shall be 6063 T6 alloy and temper
- Fasteners shall be made corrosion-resistant
- Glazing gaskets shall be extruded black santoprene
- Insulated back pans in column or spandrel areas shall be galvanized steel of 20 gauge thickness (or as specified to suit application) and have sealed corners
- Any connections between the back-up panels and framing shall be caulked with high grade butyl sealant
Features
The DESA 2500UHP Series Curtain Wall System is an exterior glazed, stick built, multi floor, pressure equalized rain screen system.
This superior performance system utilizes a polymide structural strutted thermal break kurled between the curtain wall nose
and back section. The polymide strut is located in the same place as the insulated glass unit to reduce thermal bridging. Air/
vapour barriers can easily be incorporated between window and wall systems to improve building envelope performance.
To ensure a complete thermal solution for any building, the DESA 2500UHP Curtain Wall System integrates all DESA thermally improved systems. DESA has the ability to deliver on thermal performance without compromising on the aesthetics of the finished product.

Performance
The isolator design uses super-insulating materials to reduce the thermal transfer via the frame. Using a polyamide pressure plate, the DESA 2500UHP system has an overall U factor of 0.147 BTU/h-ft2-F ( 0.834 W /m2-K), as per NFRC 100.
The system also passed the air leakage resistance @ 300 Pa when tested using AAMA/WDMA/CSA. DESA 2500UHP Curtain Wall System has been rigorously tested against the performance testing standards in which it either meets or exceeds.
